8 men run under 14.00 minutes in the 5000m race

What an incredible way to end the last leg of the series!

The men’s 5000m race was packed with SA’s best athletes, 8 guys run under 14.00 minutes, with 7 of them recording new PB’s in the Mens 5000m A race. Precious Mashele won the race in a quick 13:27, this just 2 days after he ran a 27:55 10 000m in Durban. 

The women’s 1500m was  the fastest 1500m race run in SA this year, with the Ethiopian Tadu Nare crossing the line ion 4:13 and junior athlete Carmie Prinsloo just missing her PB 4:18. 


It was a close finish in the mens 800m race with Duran and Luan dipping each other on the line.  Five athletes ran 1:48 in the mens 800m.
