Lyndi Roelofse and Thobile Vilakazi, both two of the most promising juniors in the country topped the grand prix standings, both earning 10 points. Unlike the seniors whom collected points over 6 challenge races the juniors contested over 4 races. Grand Prix points were earned in the following 4 races: Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban and Johannesburg.
Lyndi, whom competes in the colours of Boxer AC, participated in all 4 challenge races. Her highest placing was 2nd in PE, 3rd in Durban, 4th in Johannesburg and 5th in Pretoria with her best time recorded in PE- 37:03. Thobile (KPMG) only competed over 2 challenge races- Durban and Johannesburg. However she placed in number 1 spot at both of these races, with a best time of 37:33 in Durban.
Casey Bosman and Liza Kellerman finished in joint third place with 8 points each. Casey’s best performance came in Durban when she finished 3rd place in a time of 38:31. Liza, an 800m specialist, won the Pretoria leg of the series in 39:27. Nicole Louw, finished in 5th position, as she missed 2 races, however, ran the fastest time 36:032 in the junior category for the series at the PE race.
All 5 athletes are part of the Endurocad program and we are so proud of their achievements this season.
